Kitesurfing
Kitesurfing is a wind powered surface watersport using a kite and a board to move across the water. Kitesurfing harnesses the power of the wind through a large parachute type kite to propel a rider across the water on a small surfboard or a kiteboard (similar to a wakeboard).
Although the name includes surfing, kitesurfing does not need waves, the wind is the only force needed to power you along. Flat water locations such as Camber are favoured by riders looking to perform freestyle as the water is smooth so easier to take off and land on. With the large range of conditions to ride in, whether ‘surfing’ in the waves, going for big jumps, taking out a GPS for a speed records, learning a new freestyle trick or on a long distance adventure kitesurfing never becomes boring or repetitive.
Snorkeling
Sri Lanka is a land of undaunted coastal beauty, pristine beaches, vast wildlife, and a paradise to witness the picturesque sunset which makes this island the ‘pearl of Indian Ocean’. Apart from its pristine beauty, Sri Lanka has come into the limelight for its exotic snorkeling spots which are ideal for exploring the world underwater. Water Sports in Bentota
Whether you’ve never done it before, or if you’re an expert, this is the wonderful sea activity for everyone. Swim in the warm Indian Ocean, and see tropical fish, the coral reefs and try and maneuver through the seaweed that floats underwater.
Banana tube is like its name says, shaped like a banana and is attached to a ski boat by roap. The ride will guarantee that huge waves will come thrashing over your heads. While being suitable for any age, you can select from single rings, and sofa rides as well in Bentota.
White Water Rafting in Kitulgala
In the wet zone forest area you’ll find one of Sri Lanka’s finest locations, splendid and rich with nature’s gifts. The town is called Kitulgala, where wildlife lives, plants grow, fishes and water creatures strut about with no inhibitions at all. Kitulgala is famous for the exotic birds that roam the sky above it, the mouth-watering rice-curry lunch that’s served and the Kelani River.
